Right on schedule, this past September ground was broken for the new Softball field at the WMHS! The Wakefield DPW engineers and grounds crew are working with Sports Turf Specialties of Wrentham in the relocation of the existing field, providing new Infield granular material composition, cut, fill and regrading the Outfield and laser grading the whole thing before installation of yard hydrants (for irrigation), seeding and starting on the demo of existing fences and installation of new of new. Construction is scheduled for the field to be ready for the High School softball team to play on in the spring season 2020.
